Bad. And yet... I was so sad when the ship blew up! I mean, what had the poor ship done? Complete innocent... And she did have a bit of character on top of the problematic ones...
Loved the movie, regardless, because yeah, Susan's a good female protagonist!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6504469498403243043.post-52774364411747349672009-04-06T11:51:00.000-04:002009-04-06T11:51:00.000-04:00Just saw it with the kiddo yesterday and completel...Just saw it with the kiddo yesterday and completely agree with your review. Last night at dinner, Dan told me he thinks I only like him when he's tired, because I was acting exhausted by his energy.

Helen: I forgot to mention the part about not pairing her off! I loved that about it, too. Although, I might have been impressed if a personality-less giant male character came out of the woodwork to exist just for her the way that random ladies show up for male heroes in movies. But I do like that there was no sign of her needing anyone.Traceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16772379845428202751noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6504469498403243043.post-92116409588033736132009-04-02T21:37:00.000-04:002009-04-02T21:37:00.000-04:00I followed the link from Hoyden. I saw this movie last night, and had the same reaction you did; resignation at the usual cliches, but I got to the end and thought, "Wow, they just made an animate movie about a huge strong woman who not only tosses her loser fiance, they didn't feel the need to pair her off with someone else."

I was definitely surprised. And I laughed a lot -- it's a very silly movie.Helen Huntingdonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13194570063379856862noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6504469498403243043.post-28709311021196451032009-04-02T15:16:00.000-04:002009-04-02T15:16:00.000-04:00Melissa: Of course you can!
