Linkfest!

I told my best friend Katie today that I felt like the ability to quickly share items on my Google Reader was keeping me from blogging. As a step toward remedying that, I'm going to try to start linking to those items here in addition to just sharing them with the two friends who follow me in Google.

So here's a taste of what I've been read today:

Alas, A Blog: Equal Vocabularies: Why we need the word "cis", and a new word for "normal" weight

Questioning Transphobia: Healthy adult gives birth to second healthy baby

Sociological Images: White Privilege and the Trouble with Homogeneity: The Black Oreo Barbie

Womanist Musings: Beauty Boot Camp

Pizza Diavola: Gender and Chef-ing

Transgriot: Here We Go Again - Chill With the "It's Black People's Fault Prop 8 Passed" Meme

Thanks for the link!

Cat in a plant kinda grosses me out. I know they clean themselves and all, but I still don't want anything lying in dirt and then running around my house.

Hey, remember that night in Columbus when we actually talked to that girl who gave us the Black People Passed Proposition 8 speech? That was cool.

I actually made it 5 minutes into that Lady Gaga video before I gave up.

As for the cis-gender thing, I tooooootally wish that Christian was default. I love the idea of talking about Jewish people and "normal" people. Of course, I don't really know a lot of people who consider being called "normal" a good thing.

And plumpdumpling:

But you aren't supposed to think past the adorable picture!

I sure do remember that night. I loved seeming like I sooo knew all about college union activity when I only know the bare minimum.

But did you see the wheelchair/crutches sexiness?

And yeah. I thought using religion to demonstrate the concept was brilliant.

There is no such thing as wheelchair/crutches sexiness.

I would've dug that weird leg brace thing in the Helmut Newton photos on the Lady Gaga page, though, was it not for the cane. Brace is hot, and cane is hot, but together they are just sad.
