Rape: Still Not Funny

It always bugs me that rape is considered such a hilarious topic in "college humor", considering how rape and sexual assault proliferate on college campuses. See here for some statistics (Note: the link is a PDF).

In this charming little video, CollegeHumor uses the old classic-cartoon-characters-doing-unexpectedly-violent-things trick in order to get some laughs, only it's not funny.

Trigger Warning:

"Super-Raped"? Seriously, what the hell?

Urgh, now that wasn't disturbng at all. Nope. Not one bit.

*pukes*

Why is it considered normal and okay to be sick enough to make stuff like this? I don't get it. I just don't get it.

*sigh*

Oh my. I wonder if college students are so overwhelmed by being talked to constantly now by official-dom about date-rape, etc. that they are becoming desensitized to the whole issue & are thus acting out with crap like this. I've heard my own students - who I like & respect - joke about gender sensitive things that make my hair curl.

What an awful cartoon.

Made it all the way to college without learning a single thing about human decency. Yeah rape is funny until it is happening to you. I am beyond disgusted.
